148 Development Academy Teams Converge in Lancaster to Play More Than 220 Matches During the Next Four Days

LANCASTER, Calif. (Dec. 4, 2008) – The Development Academy Winter Showcase kicked off at the Lancaster National Soccer Center in Lancaster, Calif., with the Los Angeles Galaxy and North Meck playing the first of 220 total matches that will be contested during the five-day long event.

*Co Freshman Player of the Year

*1st Team All Conference USA


This is a great accomplishment for the former BUSA 90 Elite standout and we are very proud of her!


Katy Frierson Takes Home Top Conference Honors for Auburn!

National Youth License Course

Alabama Youth Soccer Association, along with US Youth Soccer, will be hosting the National Youth License in the winter, 2009. The dates will be February 17th – 22nd , 2009, held at SportsBlast and 1996 Fields Soccer Complex in Birmingham. The National Youth License, a U.S. Soccer course, focuses upon the nature of children and the adjustments adults must make to coach them. The course curriculum covers the ages of 4-12 years old. All Coaches, Directors, and Administrators, involved with youth soccer will benefit greatly from the knowledge gained within the National Youth License. More Information & Application.

CHICAGO (October 22, 2008) – U.S. Soccer Development Academy clubs are in the midst of SPARQ Training, a revolutionary training component that partnered with U.S. Soccer in April 2008. SPARQ, which stands for speed, power, agility, reaction and quickness, provides physical testing and training programs for each Academy club as well as the U.S. National Teams.
